The source material for this project made up the soundtrack for mine and many peoples' teenage years. I thought it would be a fun project to revisit these songs and then reinterpret them as a 33 year old married father. In the process of recording, the lyrics that I used as a springboard ended up really standing out, and it kind of turned into a nice little meditation on the direct-ness of hardcore punk. These songs say "I hate you" as clearly and as deeply as soul music says "I love you."

"Your Emotions" is a scored sound collage of interview snippets from the documentary, The Decline Of Western Civilization. The title is borrowed from the Dead Kennedys
