I ran Suburban Sprawl Music and the label for Quack Media for years, and eventually got super burned out on the whole endeavor. I had stopped writing music unless it was for advertising. Finally, after about 4 years I felt creative again and started writing. Prudence is the result of those songwriting and recording sessions.
All of these songs are about my wife Erin. You don’t really hear music written about long term relationships, which is a very different sort of romance. It’s still romance, but there’s some heft to it. We’ve been together for 10 years and Prudence reflects a little slice of my love for her.
I worked closely throughout the process with Warren Defever (His Name is Alive), who provided priceless guidance and was very generous with his time. Whether it was with a question like “Why do these vocals have reverb?” or with a statement like “You don’t need to fade this out” Warren was a huge help.
Thanks and enjoy
